Statement zum Kunstmarkt

Der sogenannte "Kunstmarkt" wirkt auf mich oft wie ein fein inszenierter Selbstbetrug. Wirklich bedeutende Kunst – Kunst, die tief berührt, Kraft schenkt und langfristig wirkt – geben Sammler nicht her. Solche Werke bleiben bei ihren Besitzern, weil sie positive Energie spenden und ihnen auf ganz persönliche Weise Erfolg und innere Stärke bringen.

Auch meine Sammler würden niemals Werke aus meinem Portfolio abgeben. Diese Arbeiten sind keine Spekulationsobjekte – sie sind lebendige Quellen von Präsenz, Erinnerung und Wandel.

In diesem Licht betrachtet sind Auktionen mit Werken lebender Künstler:innen selten gute Werbung für den Künstler selbst. Wer seine Kunst loswerden muss oder will – was sagt das über die Verbindung zum Werk aus? Wo liegt der Sinn darin, wenn Kunst nur noch als Umlaufware funktioniert?

Der Kunstmarkt, so wie er sich heute präsentiert, ist in vielen Aspekten schlichtweg irre. Er folgt Trends, spekulativen Blasen und künstlich aufgeblasenen Dynamiken, die mit dem eigentlichen Wesen von Kunst wenig zu tun haben. Diese Strukturen fördern nicht das organische, authentische Wachstum künstlerischer Energie – sie stehen ihm im Gegenteil oft im Weg.

Wahre Kunst braucht keinen Hype.

Sie wirkt still, tief und dauerhaft.

Und sie bleibt – dort, wo sie gebraucht wird.

Statement on the Art Market

What is often called the "art market" today feels, to me, like a well-orchestrated form of self-deception. Truly powerful art – the kind that resonates deeply, gives strength, and endures over time – is not something serious collectors part with. Such works stay with their owners because they radiate positive energy and contribute, in quiet but real ways, to personal growth and success.

My collectors, for example, would never part with the works they've acquired from my portfolio. These pieces are not financial assets – they are living sources of presence, memory, and transformation.

In this light, auctions of works by living artists are rarely good publicity for the artist. If someone feels the need to "get rid of" a piece of art – what does that say about the bond to the work? Where is the meaning in that transaction?

The current art market, as it operates today, is in many ways simply absurd. It follows trends, speculative hype, and inflated mechanisms that have little to do with the true nature of art. These structures do not nourish artistic energy – they often block or distort its natural growth.

True art does not need hype.

It works quietly, deeply, and lastingly.

And it stays – where it is needed.
